Working as both a middle-school teacher and a full-time novelist, the American writer Winnie Archer is well known for her fun and engaging mystery stories, many of which have been receiving huge amounts of acclaim in recent times, as they manage to capture the attention and imaginations of their audience, bringing her warm wit and good humor to the forefront of the narrative, really allowing them to feel that they’re a part of the story. With fun and charismatic characters that work at pulling the readers in, they resonate with their audience largely due to their down-to-earth nature and style, as they create a connection with the reader. This is something which Archer has mastered over the years, having come a long way in a relatively short amount of time, creating a fun and timeless collection of stories. Her writing style is also extremely vibrant, as it carries along with a sense of panache that many other writers can only hope of aspiring to, providing a new style of writing in the process. Knowing and understanding the craft on a fundamental level, she really comprehends how to break through to the reader and what they’re looking for in a good, well told, story that keeps them reading. Making her books accessible too, she is able to arrest the attention straight away almost immediately, seeing how people interact with one another and what sounds realistic. Keeping the reader constantly guessing throughout too, she knows exactly what it takes to craft a good quality mystery that continues to keep up the pace of the narrative. Always looking for new ideas, she’s never short of good material with which to bring into her next novel, as they all manage to bring a new set of surprises each time, ensuring that she’s one of the most prolific figures currently working within their field to date.

Early and Personal Life

Born in a beach town in California it was this area that would come to inspire much of her writing in the following years to come, as she followed her passion for the written word. It would not only enable her to gain an understanding of the area, but it would also allow her to formulate many of her ideas during her upbringing, giving her the material she required. Constantly found with her head in a book she was a voracious reader, something which she backed up with her love of writing extensively and consistently too, always aiming to bring new ideas and themes into her work.

Over the years this would progress, allowing her to become a lot more proficient in the form, something which she continued throughout her education too. Later turning to the mystery genre she would embark on a life-long fascination with this genre and specific field, giving her the tools that she needed to continue. Now living with her husband and their five kids in North Texas she continues to write to this present day, something which she will continue for many years to come, as it appears that she’s not stopping any time soon with plenty more set to follow.

Writing Career

Bringing out her first book in 2017, she made her debut onto the mystery genre literary scene with her first debut title ‘Kneaded to Death’. Not only was this her first book, but it was also the first in the ongoing ‘Bread Shop Mystery’ set of novels, a franchise of mystery books set around a bread shop. Working within the cozy mystery genre, it managed to introduce her to the reading public at large, giving them a clear idea of what to expect in the books that were to follow.

Many readers from all across the world have warmed to the work of Winnie Archer as an author. Knowing exactly what she wants from each of her books she always delivers. This is something that will carry on as her writing career grows from strength-to-strength, on into the foreseeable future.

Kneaded to Death

Initially published in 2017, this was first released through the ‘Kensington Publishing Corporation’ publishing outlet. Published on the 28th of February, it set-up the ‘Bread Shop Mystery’ franchise. It would also help to establish Winnie Archer’s career as a writer, giving readers a clear idea of what they were to expect in the future, also introducing the characters for the first time, allowing the audience to discover the world of the series and everyone in it.

Having been a struggling photographer for much of her life, thirty-six year old Ivy Culpepper is returning home to the seaside town of Santa Sofia in California. It is here that she attends ‘Yeast of Eden’, whereby she undertakes a bread-making class there, one which sees her building a friendship with business owner Olaya Solis. That’s when a missing classmate is soon discovered dead in her car, leaving none other than Olaya herself to become the prime suspect, as Culpepper has to prove her innocence. Who really committed the heinous murder? Can Culpepper solve the case? Who exactly was kneaded to death?

Crust No One

Marking the second title in the ongoing ‘Bread Shop Mystery’ series of novels, this manages to provide another investigation in the well received franchise. Released through the ‘Kensington’ publishing label, it works at continuing in much the same vein as before, taking the story forwards in the process, whilst also developing all the characters too. Brought out on the 26th of December, this was first released in 2017 to much acclaim, as it was published not that long after the first.

Now in an apprenticeship at the ‘Yeast of Eden’ institute, Ivy Culpepper is settling down to learn some time honored baking techniques from Olaya Solis, as well as settle down into the community itself. Not just that, but she still feels somewhat of a tension between her and Miguel Baptista, the local restaurateur, as they both attempt to overcome their previous ‘romance’. That’s when Miguel’s produce supplier mysteriously disappears, as ‘Old Hank’ is nowhere to be seen, with stories of financial troubles in his past. Will Ivy be able to get to the bottom of it all? Where did he reall disappear to? Why should she crust no one?
