Yusei Matsui
Yusei Matsui was born in Iruma, Saitama, Japan on January 31, 1979 and is a manga artist.

Yusei writes the “Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro” series and the “Assassination Classroom” series, which were both adapted anime television series. “Assassination Classroom” was also adapted into two live action movies.

Yusei’s favorite manga series include “Ultimate Muscle”, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”, and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

While writing the teacher Koro-sensei, he built upon the ideals of the sort of teacher that he wanted to have. He believes that if he was an extraterrestrial and invincible being that could move around at mach twenty and was interested in becoming a teacher, he’d want to be like Koro-sensei.

He was inspired to write Neuro after being lent a detective novel by a friend that was written by Seishi Yokomizo, and he wound up hanging onto it for seven years. He realized that he should probably give it back to his friend, so he read the final two pages or so where the mystery’s solved, and realized that mysteries aren’t for him.

Yusei realized that there were a bunch of people that thought along these lines, particularly for the audience of Shonen Jump, since there’s never been an orthodox detective manga that has done very well there.

It’s really his take on the detective manga, but not in some bad way. Conan and Sherlock Holmes always manage to land themselves in such situations, however Neuro uses his magic to hunt them down. As to why folks would create complicated tricks so they could murder somebody, he wanted to convey the extent that humans will go in pursuit of their goal.

Yusei’s editor told him that he should create some cute mascot character in order to boost the popularity of the Neuro manga. He didn’t think it really needed one, however he attempted to figure out what would be cute within this world, and he came up with Akane, a sentient braid of hair that attaches to a body. What he thought of wasn’t a sentient braid, but a being that would latch right onto your skull and rip into it, and he realized pretty quickly that this wouldn’t make for any kind of usable mascot.

Before Yusei worked as a mangaka, he worked as an assistant for Yoshio Sawai, who created Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

“Assassination Classroom” was nominated for an Eisner Award.

“Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro” is a series that began publication in the year 2005. The Demon Neuro has got a raging hunger for ‘mysteries’. Since he is dissatisfied with his current regime in hell, he has entered the mortal realm so that he can satiate his always increasing appetite.

The murder case of one young girl’s dad appears to be sufficiently enticing for the Demon’s requirements. However what else may happen between these two? Learn more in this disturbingly good murder-mystery series.

“Assassination Classroom Volume One” was released in the year 2014. Meet the would be hitmen of class 3-E. “Assassination Classroom Volume Three” was released in the year 2015. Nothing Koro Sensei is unable to cure with a bit of super-fast tentacle work.

When playboy Maehara is dissed by this girl for being in Class 3-E, revenge is obviously warranted, and Koro Sensei is able to help with this as well. Then there’s Irina, the sexy assassin/ English language teacher, gets a visit from her killing mentor.

“Assassination Classroom Volume Four” was released in the year 2015. Irina’s assassination mentor appears and the two compete and use special agent Karasuma as their target. Another transfer student/would-be hitman joins their class, and is accompanied by a guardian that claims to be Koro’s younger brother?!

A tentacle showdown happens, sending everybody into a tentacle tizzy. Then these students face some humiliation yet again during this school baseball exhibition game. Plus some more secrets about Koro Sensei’s mysterious past is revealed.

“Assassination Classroom Volume Five” was released in the year 2015. Intramural relations have hit an all-time low. Principal Asano wants to beat Koro Sensei’s 3-E baseball squad, while Koro wants to avenge Principal Asano’s sabotaging 3-E’s midterms.

Then the government sends in this new Special Forces operative, who is a ruthless dad figure that tests Karasuma’s combat instructing skills. You won’t ever guess which student does him very proud! And Koro Sensei digs out a swimming pool to help out his students cool off, they learn about a new weakness of his. As well as how cute their fellow classmates look in their swimsuits.

“Assassination Classroom Volume Six” was released in the year 2015. The students from 3-E learn Koro’s biggest weakness may be a common substance. Would they be able to use it to murder him as he helps out Meg, formerly of the varsity swim squad, with her greatest weakness?

The next assassination attempt, which is implemented by Terasaka, is much more elaborate yet it endangers his fellow students. Could he save them without saving his target? Then, the top class at school, including the son of Principal Asano, conspires to prevent 3-E from ever being able rising closer to the very top!
