Zoe Saadia is a renowned novelist from The United States known for writing literature & fiction and historical fiction. She is particularly famous for writing the stories of the pre-Columbian Americas. Some of the most popular book series penned by Saadia include The Rise of Aztecs series, Pre-Aztec series, The Aztec Chronicles, The Great Peacemaker series, the People of Longhouse series, etc. Her books, mostly talk about the founders of Iroquois Great League and the architects of Aztec Empire. Through her works, author Saadia has tried to bring to life the long-forgotten history, people, and cultures. With the descriptions about the towering Mexican Valley pyramids and Great Lakes’ long-houses, Saadia has carried out a lot of research in tracing the various pivotal events that have resulted in the greatness of North & Mesoamerica. In writing her books, Saadia has carried out extensive researches about various pre-contact cultures of the continent for over a decade. Now, she considers that it is a great shame that such an important part of history got completely overlooked. And the fact that historical fiction missed it, is an even greater shame.

Author Saadia says that both the Americas had a diverse, extremely rich, and fascinating history long before the continent established contact with the other parts of the world. So, she has set her professional target of exploring the real America as far as she can because she believes this greatest continent has been discovered yet, and probably no will be able to discover it completely. It was while researching about the Classic-Ancient Mediterranean that Saadia developed an interest in pre-contact Americas. She was hurled into studying the amazingly detailed and wise constitution of the Great League after studying Republican Rome. Saadia was so fascinated that she couldn’t stop herself from comparing the two political structures. She even found several resembling points in them. The articles that Saadia had penned around 10 years ago on this subject are not available to her today, which she considers a relief because she believes she was not mature enough at that time for writing on such topics. And today, after spending many years in creative writing and research, and going through her share of struggles with the industry of publishing, author Saadia has two mesmerizing sagas to offer to the world. Her Mesoamerican Saga is composed of 2 series having 11 novels altogether. These novels cover the turbulent Mesoameria history of 14-15th century.

In the books, Saadia has shown how the people of that time, the Aztecs, were involved in carving out their place among the other empires and local powers. The other exciting saga described by Saadia is the North American Saga. It deals with the popular Iroquois Confedracy’s creation, which is included among the world’s oldest democracies. The 8 full length books of this saga are divided into two series. They follow the creators of Great League and their work’s aftermath that resulted in the evolution of Great League’s political body into a major power in the Great Lakes and the surrounding regions. Saadia has attempted to explain what the Aztec Empire was and how it existed before its encounter subsequent fall against the Cortez & its conquistadors.

A mesmerizing series written by author Zoe Saadia is called The Great Peacemaker Series. It consists of 4 books in total released between 2013 and 2014. All the four books of this series feature the lead character in the form of Tekeni. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Two Rivers’. It was published in 2013 in the Kindle format. The book contains the main characters as Tekeni and Two Rivers. At the book’s beginning, it is mentioned that Tekeni survives a failed raid on enemy lands. After this incident, he is left with no illusions. Tekeni receives the treatment of nothing more than an enemy cub. Even after he is adopted into a clan, he is not accepted by anyone. It was difficult for him to fit himself in, and running away was out of the question. So, the only option left with Tekeni was to land into trouble very often. Others did not have any expectation from him anyway.

Later, at the time of a ballgame, a petty row turns into a big clash and results in a fight. Tekeni knows he has landed in a grave trouble. The chain of deadly events set in motion after the fight was not expected by anyone. Luckily for Tekeni, the controversial and highly esteemed Two Rives comes to his rescue. Two Rivers was always considered a strange man having unacceptable ideas and notions. He believes that fighting is a big mistake that results disastrous consequences. And to stop the fights from taking place, Two Rivers suggests negotiating a peace with the neighboring countries. This idea of Two Rivers is considered wild and far-fetched even by Tekeni, who is a despised enemy. As the trouble keeps mounting, Two Rivers and Tekeni experience being pushed beyond the limits.

Another well written book of this series is called ‘Across the Great Sparkling Water’. It was also released in 2013. It features the lead protagonist as Onheda. At the story’s start, Onheda is seen wondering whether she should live in the captivity of her enemies and accept her fate, or run away and break the sacred tradition and law? But, this question does not occur to her before taking the step of fleeing Little Falls. She knows she did not take a better judgement and ran away on the spur of the moment. Onheda is not ready to get lost in the woods and die a lonely death. So, she decides to head back to her community in spite of knowing it very well that they will accuse her of breaking the sacred custom and won’t accept her at any cost. Onheda believes she can bear the negligence of her people, but not dying in the forest away from her loved ones. She was not ready to spend one more day among her enemies and face their rude behavior. While Onheda moves ahead on her journey, she comes across a mysterious man, who goes on to change her world as well as those of her enemies. Onheda wonders who the strange man was? She wonders if the mysterious foreigner came from beyond the Great Sparkling Water or was he Great Spirits’ Messenger? Onheda doesn’t seem to care much about the man’s identity. She is happy to know that he has helped to make her life better and she is grateful to him. This book entertained a large number of readers from across the globe and helped author Saadia establish herself as a noteworthy writer of historical fiction stories.
