The Blossom Valley Mystery series is a series of thriller, suspense, and cozy mystery books written by one of the noteworthy American novelists named Staci McLaughlin. This series is comprised of a total of 6 books, of which 5 have already been released between the years 2012 and 2016. The 6th book is also expected to be published in the days to come. All the books of this cozy mystery series are set around a popular organic farm in Blossom Valley, California, United States. Author McLaughlin has named it as O’Connell Organic Farm & Spa. Also, each and every novel of this series features the lead character in the form of Dana Lewis. Author McLaughlin has shown Dana Lewis as returning to Blossom Valley after a long time in order to take up a marketing job. But, what she does not expect is that she will have to carry out some sleuthing duties as well as a means to solve the criminal activities in the town. Author Staci MacLaughlin began writing the series in the year 2012 and published its first book titled ‘Going Organic Can Kill You’ in the same year. Over the years, she has contributed to several interesting books in the series. Currently, author McLaughlin is working on the publication schedule of the latest book of the series. Also, she is working on the development of a few more stories which she will be publishing in the series later.

Dana Lewis is introduced in the series as enjoying her stay in Blossom Valley and trying a variety of cuisines. The last thing that she expects in her plate is a murder mystery. But, she soon comes to know about the death of Bobby Joe Jones, a driver of a Monster Truck as well as the boyfriend of her sister Ashlee and a frequent philanderer, Dana does not seem to have any other choice but to try and investigate the case. The case also becomes important to her because the witnesses last saw her sister in an angry mood in Bobby’s grill. As Dana works on the case, her life tends to skid out of control. She seems to be left with no other option but to go into an overdrive to save her sister and prevent a deadly killer from taking the lives of other innocent victims. As the series continues, Dana Lewis is depicted as organizing a festival called Green Living Festival. She includes a variety of fauna and some tempting cuisines of tempeh and tofu. By organizing this festival, Dana Lewis hopes that she will be able to inspire the people of the Blossom Valley to reduce their carbon footprint. However, the event does not turn out as she expected. One of the participants in the festival named Wendy Stevens, saving the planet comes at the price of her own life. Previously, she used to be regarded as a guru of green energy, but now she is found lifeless in her booth called Invisible Prints. With the discovery of Wendy Stevens’ dead body, Dana Lewis feels that someone is trying to destroy her big event. She realizes that she has to act fast and try to prevent a killer from making her festival turn into a great disaster. However, she also knows that it is not going to be an easy task for her. The brutal killer also keeps a track of all her activities and poses a great challenge for her. Dana too seems ready to face any challenge thrown at her with the help of her firm determination to put the killer behind bars.

The debut novel in the Blossom Valley Mystery series written by author Staci McLaughlin was published under the title of Going Organic can Kill You. The Kensington publication released this book in the year 2012. Dana Lewis is introduced as the central character of the series in this book. In the opening scene, she is depicted as returning back to her hometown in Blossom Valley in California in order to stay with her mother who has been widowed recently. However, her decision of going for a new career move does not turn out as she had expected. The job makes her realize that it is not going to be a piece of cake for her. Along with the stuffed squash blossoms, tofu, and fish sticks at the O’Connell Farm, she also has to deal with a bloody murder. Just days after beginning her new job, she discovers the dead body of a well known Hollywood producer named Maxwell Mendelsohn. He had arrived at the Spa as a guest for the opening weekend. Already, Dana Lewis has the load of writing the blogs for the Spa and working with the local police and news reporter Jason Forrester in relation to the high profile murder. And on top of that, her job duties have escalated with finding the evidences and clues, suspects, and motives so as to help the police solve the case as soon as possible. Now that the killer has taken note of her actions, she must act fast or else she might end up as the next victim of the brutal murderer.

One more popular book in the mystery series is titled as ‘A Healthy Homicide’. This book was also released by the Kensington publishers in the year 2015. The plot of the book shows that the O’Connell Organic Spa and Farm organizes a healthy competition usually. But, everyone knows that the rivalry among the competitors turn lethal everytime. A new buzz seems to be going around in Blossom Valley due to the excitement over the opening of a new spa called The Pampered Life. It is believed that this spa’s trendy menu offers some of the best services. Also, the employees of the spa appear as if they are fashion models. The people of the Blossom Valley seem to be going crazy about these features of the new spa and this makes Dana Lewis worried about the business of her own spa. Shortly after, the owner of the new spa is found dead in a mud bath. Due to this unfortunate turn of events, the police believe that the rivalry between the owners of the spas might have taken an ugly turn and ended in the murder of the swanky owner. As all the fingers point towards the O’Connell Farm’s bosses, Dana feels that she must go through the list of suspects and find out the fearsome killer before something uglier happens.
