Emma Miller (born on 24th September 1966) is an English author specializing Historical Romance and Inspirational genres. Miller was lucky enough to be raised in a family of staunch faith, grew up on a dairy production farm surrounded by caring and loving grandparents, parents, uncles, siblings, aunts, and cousins. The author was educated in local but humble schools and one time attended Amish schoolhouse. The English author boasts three mystery series Hannah Daughters, Amish Mystery, and Amish Matchmaker. She is married and lives in Delaware with her husband.

Courting Ruth (2010)

Courting Ruth is the first book in Hannah’s Daughters series by Emma Miller. Hannah Yoder, an Amish widow, hopes that her daughters will each find a husband someday. However, for the sensible Ruth, she believes that it is the God’s will that she remains home and helps her younger sisters. However, when a handsome young guy relocates to Kent County, Ruth begins to rethink her plans. The young man, Eli Lapp is not a part of the church and thus is allowed to run wild, but something special in the young Ruth makes him want to settle down and with her by his side. Will he convince her that they are destined to be together?

The author Emma does an excellent job of ensuring that her characters so lively, such that one can relate them with real life people. The two characters Ruth and Eli are funny, Eli chases while Ruth runs, even though she is attracted to this guy, only because she feels that she cannot trust her heart to him. Despite her resistance, Emma does a pretty good job of ensuring that they are drawn together by the power of love. In other words, this novel describes a beautiful story of how we should love ourselves and let the power of God to take control over our lives. A story that shows how following our hearts can lead to love.

Miriam’s Heart (2011)

Miriam one of Hannah’s daughter has always thought that she would marry Charley Byler, the steady and dependable young man who was raised on the neighboring farm and has always been so sweet to her since they were young. However, a young local veterinarian John Hartman gets a feeling for the charming young girl, Miriam Yoder. He is handsome and cares for animals, and even though Miriam is commonly known as the wild Yoder sister, her family hopes that she will one day marry a good Amish man. However, could it be Gods plan that He matches her with the veterinarian, John Hartman? Miriam must listen to her heart to know which man she is destined to spending the rest of her life with. Miriam’s Heart is a fascinating novel to read, the characters are well crafted, with each of the character performing its role exemplary. The plotline flows well with some good plot twists existing within the pages.

Anna’s Gift (2011)

Anna Yoder is in her early twenties, wants to marry, but she considers herself fat and ugly and that not a single man walking on the face of the earth will ever marry her. All her sisters are thin and beautiful thus lowering herself esteem. She has always had a crush on her widowed neighbor named Samuel. However, Samuel seems to be courting her mom and cannot stand to the fact that he might soon be her stepfather. On the other hand, she cannot contemplate that such a handsome man would ever see her as beautiful.

Fortunately, Samuel has always waited for years until his dream girl (Anna) turned 21 so that he could ask for courtship. He has eyes for her inner beauty, and he trusts that she is the woman that God has given him. Samuel and Anna are both Amish and have the same beliefs. Also, Samuel has five kids, but he does not mind, all that he requires is a woman who will serve as his wife and love all of his children as hers. Little Mae, Samuels daughter was only a few months old when his wife died, and since then, she has lived with his sister, and now views her father as a total stranger.

In a quick turn of events, Anna falls in love with Samuel’s girls and but the boys do not want their father to take Anna as their stepmother and Anna does not want to marry without love and also not sure whether she will get another chance.

Samuel proposes to Anna, and no one is surprised more than her and when she finally gets an opportunity to inform her friends about Samuels’s proposal no one believes her and they all think she is making up her stories. Anna’s is up for the challenge, will she accept Samuels’s proposal?

When her Aunt Jezebel and gross mama come to live with the couple, it adds more tension because her gross mother seems to hate her and she is also mean to her.

Anna’s Gift explores two practical issues; the first is directly related to Anna’s character. Not being slim as her sisters and she has always felt unworthy of a man’s attention, and this statement is proven by the fact that none of the people in her community is interested in her. So when Samuel finally proposes to her, she is reluctant simply because she thinks that he only needs a person to cook, clean and look after his kids.

Leah’s Choice (2012)

Leah Yoder, one of Hannah’s daughters, has dreams of marrying an Amish Man and living with him in the small peaceful town of Delaware. However, when a missionary man Daniel Brown arrives in Delaware to spread the word of God, Leah finds this man attractive and grows feelings for him. She spends most of her free time in a forbidden relationship with Daniel so as to establish whether she loves him or not. Unfortunately, not for long and she will soon be forced to make a choice whether to stay in the forbidden courtship and with the man she believes God sent him or she should side with her local community. Leah’s Choice is a historical romance novel and one of the best books in this genre; it describes the extent to which people are willing to sacrifice to be with someone they love.
