Steve Gannon is a noteworthy and bestselling author from the United States, who likes to write novels in the thriller, suspense and science fiction genres. He is particularly famous for writing the Kane series of novels. Steve was the eldest among his four siblings and was an enthusiastic Navy brat as his father used to serve in the US Navy as a captain. He had to change a lot of places in his childhood because of his father’s job. Among the places where he had to live during his childhood, a few include Rhode Island, North Carolina and Virginia, the last one being his primary residence since then as his father took a job at the Pentagon for the remaining days of his career. He used to live in Falls Church in Virginia. Steve completed his high school education from a school on Falls Church and enrolled in an undergraduate program at the Duke University. Later, he passed out with a degree in Physics from the USC.

After his graduation, Steve began working as a systems engineer for an aerospace industry in Southern Carolina. He worked there for a small period after which he moved to UCLA and obtained a DDS degree after fours years of graduate work. He headed for a new career as a dental specialist after passing the California Dental Board Exam. However, he started to experience identity crisis very soon and began to dislike his work as he was not prepared for the life after school. He had never given a thought about his future and used to do things on a day to day basis. Although he had never thought of working for full-time, he had done part-time jobs in his college days, including a bartender, bookstore retailer and a loader on a dock. He believed that those jobs were equally influential in a shaping him as his education. After becoming known as a well established author, Steve left other jobs and began exploring his writing career. Since then, he ha not performed dentistry or teaching advanced mathematics courses. However, he frequently uses the things he learnt from his earlier jobs in his writings, extensively. After clearing the Dental Board Exam, Steve opened a dental care office in the Westside region of the town. He had to struggle a lot in his initial days. While still practicing dentistry, he used to write novels. He also acted in television commercials after getting a Screen Actor Guild card. He used to do all sorts of ads and even modeled for Camel cigarettes in a worldwide printing campaign. He states that he used to enjoy doing those jobs. He used to write fiction stories in between which were a mixture of short and long novels and evlen managed to get a few of them published. Steve was in his mid-thirties when he left the job of dentistry and began working as a real estate developer.

In his ten year career as a developer, Steve specialized in the beachfront constructions in Malibu. He used to mostly build homes of the Hollywood stars. Later, he continued writing along with working as an executive director for a nonprofit organization in Idaho that used to promote concerts of classical music and different educational programs. He was always ready to take a chance at anything new which was the reason he did so many kinds of jobs, but never stopped writing. He used to pen down all the good and bad experiences of his life in his writings. He later decided to take up writing as a full-time career as he believed that it was the only thing that he did best. The first novel written by Steve Gannon was published by the Bantam Books as a critically acclaimed novel. The novel revolved around the life of a homicide detective trying to live a normal life after witnessing the worst human nature. Steve is famous for portraying the fictional character. Daniel Kane as an LAPD Detective. He did a lot of research work on the character by meeting a number of fascinating people, making a few long lasting friends and learning to do some unexpected things. After seeing success with the initial novel of the Kane series, he continues to write more novels in the series. After Kane, Steve also developed the character of Allison as the daughter of Kane. Apart from the Kane novel series, Steve has written a few standalone novels, one of which titled ‘Glow’ is based on the life of Mike Challan, an LA Times reporter, under the title of Stepping Stones as a collection of fiction short stories. Steve currently lives jointly in Sun Valley, Idaho and Umbria, Italy along with his lovely wife Susan, who is a concert pianist by profession. Steve likes to spend his time skiing, learning Italian language, hanging out with friends and family, along with writing.

The first novel written by Steve Gannon was published in the year 1997 by Bantam books under the title ‘A Song for the Asking’. The novel introduces Daniel Kane as a detective in the LAPD and lives in a beachfront home in California. He lives like a king and loves his wife Cathryn and his four children. After seeing the dark side of the human nature continuously as a law enforcement officer, he is determined to make his children tough enough to face any situation. However, during an unpleasant summer, the family faces a difficult situation when each one of them had to face Kane’s cruelty. Cathryn tries to save her children from the hardships of Kane. His elder son, Tommy defies the authority of Kane by willing to join the football team. His daughter Allison has to give up her passion for writing after facing disapproval from him. Kane also tries to force his other two children to stay away from music and other activities and asks them to focus on their physical training in order to be able to face the violent world. The second novel written by Steve Gannon was titled ‘Kane: A Kane Novel’ which was published in the year 2011 by Steve himself. The plot of this novel opens up with a series of murders taking place in Los Angeles and Detective Daniel Kane is the only person who can save the city. However, he is facing his personal tragedy from the first novel. He is haunted a dangerous secret which could destroy his life and family. The novel is filled with very well written characters and wonderful scenes with surprising twists. The novel ends with a thrilling climax, showing a heart-pounding last sequence.

Steve Gannon is one of the few author’s who has had an interesting life and for some time in his life has lived as a nomad, moving from one state to another. With a father who served as a captain in the US Navy, Steve Gannon had the privilege to live in diverse areas from North Carolina, Rhode Island’s and finally to Virginia where he happened to live a good part of his life in.

High school was an interesting experience for him and he happened to attended Brothers of the Christian school where he has a hard time and had a few run ins with the law. Regardless he went ahead and had his undergraduate education at the Duke University and USC with a degree in Physics. With this knowledge and background in physics, he tried his hand in formal employment as a systems engineer in the Southern California aerospace Industry. Soon enough though he went back to school and in another career all together; this time round in the medical field. This time round he did his graduate work at UCLA and earned a DDS degree four years later. After passing his certification from the California Dental board he went ahead and did a full a launch on his career as a dentist and went ahead and opened an office on the Westside of town.

Steve Gannon career life has been an interesting one especially taking into account the fact that he had a long list of literal jobs he has hold down. This feature started way in college where he worked as a loading deck, bartender and sales at a retail bookstore. Seemingly however he wanted something more with his life and quit all together to start his career in the limelight as an actor; is main forte, TV commercials promoting many things from luggage, beer and cigarette. Soon enough Steve Gannon decided to venture in the real estate business, specializing in beachfront construction in Malibu and finally settled as serving as an executive director for Idaho nonprofit organization promoting music. During his eventful career path one thing did remain constant and that is his love for writing fiction where he would write, rewrite short stories before he decided to take it as a full blown career. Now married to Susan Spelius a concert pianist, Steve Gannon is without a doubt living his dream in Italy enjoying various cuisines and perfect ambience for writing

This is the first novel in which Steve Gannon took his career as an author seriously. published in 1997 the story plot revolves around the life of Dan cane a self proclaimed king living in his castle in California. As an individual with a background in law enforcement, Kane derives joy in inculcating means and ways in which is loyal subjects; that is wife and four children are to live. Viewing the outside would as a harsh environment, Kane is determined to endure that his children are able to fully cope with the dangers. Catheryn his wife is however determined to save her children from his and his insane determination that is driving a wedge in the finally. Tommy the oldest one is under the most stress being the proverbial chosen one, next is Alison a budding writer, Nate the baby and Travis who is interested in music ; all who have to learn and conform to the authority of the man they have learned to hate; their father.

The second book in which Steve Gannon prides himself to have written is the Kane Novel. Again the main character in this novel is brought to life and quickly gains the concentration of the reader by the seemingly realistic part he plays. The plot revolves around the city of Los Angeles where a series of murders are headlining every street. A detective Daniel Kane, known to be passionate about his work is for the first time on the sides because of a personal tragedy to his family that threatens to destroy everything. With a twist of events, the story goes on to utter suspense and finally a breath taking climax in which readers peer into the personal life of Daniel Kane and his endeavors to save himself, his family and at large the city of Los Angeles from a serial killer.

The continuation of the Kane series is done in a way that is both thrilling and mind boggling. The once young child of Daniel Kane, Alison finds her own source of dangerous adventure. As a Journalism student at UCLA, she takes on a summer job as TV news interns with the hopes that it will spearhead her career when she does graduate. It however seems that soon enough she finds herself into the chilling murder investigation that pits her against her own father, Daniel Kane. Alison goes ahead to expose the secrets that threaten to destroy her life, her family and the betrayal that is within. Most of all it goes ahead and tells of her life and how dangerous life can when one decides to go against their own blood.
