Tricia Goyer is a highly acclaimed and one of the best selling American writers with more than 35 novels on marriage, parenting, children and teen genres. Born on July 17, 1971 in Mount Shasta, California, United States , Goyer has authored over 500 articles for prominent publications like Guideposts for Kids, Today’s Christian Woman, Home Life magazine and Focus on the Family. She received Carol Award twice and a nomination for the prestigious, Christy and ECPA Award.
Education and Background
Goyer is married to her long time lover, John and has three kids. She graduated from high school in 1989 and likes to share Jesus love through volunteering where she serves as an adviser for teenage moms. She is the sheer force behind the popular online site Not Quite Amish. This initiative is motivated by her Amish fiction series. She wanted to make a society where Amish and simple living specialists can become contributors to this project. Commenced in 2012, the Not Quite Amish lifestyle blog has numerous posts about simple lifestyle, recipes, home decor, repurposing, sewing Amish proverbs, etc. Apart from fifteen regular contributors, readers are also encouraged to provide important contents. She is also a regular blogger of other family and homeschooling blogs, such as TheBetterMom.com and MomLifeToday.com.
Tricia Goyer is the author of several historical fiction series, which portray strong and bold women who overcome a lot of challenges in life. She revisits historic wartime period through her stories and recreate them with accurate detail through perseverant and ample research work. She is also a beloved author of Amish fiction series and Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors Series.
· THE LIBERATOR SERIES
From Dust and Ashes (2003)
This fiction forms part of the Liberator Series and is published by Moody publishers. It is an excellent story of love, faith and audacity constructed in the backdrop of the Second Worlds War. The novel brings before us the details of a group of American soldiers who set free the refugees of a Nazi concentration camp. The protagonist, Helene, who is the forsaken wife of an SS security, offers a helping hand to the survivors. Through this practice, she finds that her own self is made free of sin, spiritual burden, and guilt.
Night Song (2005)
Night Song is yet another book in the series which won the ACFW’s 2005 Book of the Year for Best Long Historical. Here, the author brings into life the true tale of the orchestra started by prisoners in Hitler’s Mauthausen death camp. This daring orchestra team played the American national anthem when the Allied troops came to rescue them from the clutches of the Nazis. A beautiful love story of the Austrian battler and the American GI runs in the background of the concentration camp.

A Valley of Betrayal (2007)
A fiction of the Spanish Civil War Chronicles, the novel has Sophie as the main character. In certain unknown circumstances, the main protagonist is left alone in the war affected the Spanish country side. She observes how the place, once a heaven, was transformed into a land of death and horror by the fascist battlers and the Spanish patriots. Trapped in the heart of the country side which is swiftly getting distorted into a bloody battleground, she gets heartbreaking news, but she finds sadly that her only option is to remain in Spain. The only way to security is blocked by the warriors. On one of her unfortunate nights, Sophie takes shelter with a brigade of International compatriots. With the diligent use of her art and her camera, she vows to make the plight of the citizens known to the outside world.
A Shadow of Treason (2007)
This is yet another book of the series where Sophie realizes that the situation is completely different from what she had imagined. Walt, the reporter appears after Guernica is bombed and Sophie is given to accomplish an unattainable task. The novelist poignantly describes how the protagonist leaves her love behind and goes back to the person who deceived her. An additional aspect of the Spanish war is exposed as Sophie is strained into the International Espionage plots. This turns the scenario of the war topsy-turvy and the International Brigade soldier groups get an unexpected helping hand.
· SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BACHELORS SERIES
The Kissing Bridge (2014)
Published by Zondervan, the fiction brings into flesh and blood the tensions between the oppressed Amish community and the frightening outside world. The story opens with Rebecca Turner arriving in West Kootenai, Montana after the demise of her sister. She leaves Amish for a successful nursing career and she meets a handsome working person called Caleb Hooley, who has lost his faith in God. As the plot unveils, they find that they share something in common rather than their Amish inheritance.
The Promise Box (2013)
Lydia Wyse, the main character of the fiction is a book editor from Amish. She joins a small group of West Kootenai to give console to her father, after her mother’s loss. Here she finds a Promise Box of scriptures and prayers, which is a secret belonging of her mother. It is a sensational book of the true stories of Amish, which her publisher finds worth publishing. Lydia meets the Amish bachelor Gideon Hooley and falls for him in an attempt to forget the past . The book answers such question like whether the protagonist commit to her love completely by betraying her own community.
· BIG SKY AMISH SERIES
Beside Still Waters (2011)
Published by the B & H Publishing, Beside Still Waters present a charismatic story about a set of Amish people creating a new society in Montana. The main protagonist Marianna Sommer’s plight is bared before us in an intriguing way. Born and brought up in the Amish of Indiana, the 18 year old character wishes to marry Aaron Zook and lead her life in the familiar Amish community. But her plans are spoiled by her brothers who choose English ways. The story portrays how her parents settle down in Montana and how she becomes a dutiful daughter looking after her pregnant mother. After a calamity, Marianna narrated the story of Sommer family to her friend Ben and his reaction further reinforces the dynamic correlation God seeks with His followers. Gradually she learns that moving out of Amish only helped her to become closer to the Almighty. In spite of all the unexpected turn of events, Marianna experiences tranquility, like still waters.
Along Wooded Paths (2011)
The novel portrays how Marianna Sommer, who wanted a rustic and simple Amish life, depends on her new English neighbors. Living outside from their own community was challenging to her and her family as they slowly learn that a collective working together is what is required to lead a successful life in the Montana Mountains. The story deals with the dilemma of the protagonist who finds herself torn between her dream of marrying an Amish man and the new English friend who is an ardent follower of God. The novel unravels such puzzles like what sacrifice Marianna is going to make.
Apart from these fiction series, Tricia Goyer has also co authored numerous Teen books like 3:16 – The Numbers of Hope (2008) and My Life, Unscripted (2007) and children’s fiction like 10 Minutes to Showtime (2004) and Mealtime Moments (2000).
Life after career
